You must check things before you expand a Storage volume in Veritas volume Manager. When you work on Storage task you need to be very sure the steps which you follow they are correct and it will not impact your production server and its data which is located in Storage Disks.

In Veritas Volume Manager when you get new disk on the Server allocated by Storage Team you need to check they must be fresh and they are in RAW format.

These are two devices for example they are fresh for new allocation for adding to new Storage Volume in Veritas Volume Manger.

to verify the layout its GPT / MBR you need to scroll towards right

Ok Now you need to write signature on the new storage disks

New Window will open

Add the disks which you want to use and select GPT and click next

Click Yes to confirm

New window will open click next

use those two storage disks which you have used to write signature on them with GPT

Add them and click next

this gives you summary of your selection and click finish

Now you need to select the storage volume and right click –> Select Resize Volume –> ¬†click Expand
