When you are working with VCloud Director you must require VMRC Plugin to be installed on your system otherwise you will get error as VMRC Plugin missing. So let’s see How to Download VCloud VMRC Plugin?
I am logged into the VCloud Director and searched for one Server which i need to work on…
Now I would like to open the console of this Server – so that i can manage it but i am getting an error as VMRC Plugin missing
This Error indicates that we don’t have the VMRC Plugin Installed on the System so that the Virtual Machine Console can be launched from VCloud Director.
How to download vCloud VMRC Plugin?
If you Click Ok – then a popup window will open to download VMRC Plugin and once you defined the path to save the file and then file get downloaded.
In My Case file get downloaded as below
How to Install VMRC Plugin after download is complete?
You right click and click open – make sure you have correct permissions to install this package on your system
Now Installer get launched and you need to click next
Also you need to make you have closed all IE on your System
Once You have closed all IE sessions from your system and then click next
This VMRC Plugin is for IE, Mozila Firefox and Google Chrome and click install to continue
Installation is in progress and it will take some time to complete
Ok Now VMRC Plugin is installed successfully now you need to go the Vcloud Director Page and open the Virtual Machine console by click the system
Console will launched
Now You are all set to use the VMRC Plugin 🙂

I did some snooping around and saw that a few people had posted about receiving the same error message and had various fixes, none of which worked in my case. So I tweeted out a statement to see if IE11 was actually supported. the guys who look after the VMware KB twitter account were quick to respond pointing me to some published KB’s with official supported browsers.
To my surprise, vCD 5.1 only supports up to IE9, hence the error message appearing. vCD 5.5 brings some support for further browsers.
I wasn’t aware of the restrictions, however it’s good to know. Check out the KB articles (links below) to see the latest supported browsers.
