Points to Remember
Data Location is need to be provided by the Customer – where you want to restore data from Netbackup Client (Source & Destination)
Source: Where the Data was located.
Destination: Where we need to restore data – in case we are doing restoration in alternate location make sure we create a folder name with a Ticket Number and share the complete path with the Customer.
Note: Always get confirmation from Customer on the Destination of the Data Restore and make sure we should not overwrite any files.
Here we have picked the Full Backup Session from 13th Sep 2013 (Green Color Indicates Full Backup Sessions)
Now you need to navigate to a location from where our file / folder is located to restore from the bottom window
Once we have navigated to the location where our restore files are located and we have selected them for restore à now you need to click Restore Button as shown below in the Picture
In this below frame you can select the destination where you want to restore data – here we have two options Original Location / Restore Alternate Location
And Restore option is also important where you can select – Restore without access-control attributes (Windows Clients Only)
If the destination file already exists:
Choose “Do not Restore the File” will be preferred incase its restoring on original location.
Choose other two as per your choice as per the requirement: Overwrite existing file/ Restore the file using a temporary filename
After that you will see a pop-up window click Yes
Another window will open to view the progress of the Backup
After this there will be a Window Where you can view the progress
And now the Restore is completed successfully
Same view you can also see from Netbackup Master Server
