VxHF is the Tool we will use to generate the information about the patch installation on the Server, is a utility designed to automatically install, or uninstall, private / hotfixes released by Symantec Technical Services. This utility is included with all private / hotfixes that are provided by Symantec Technical Services.

The default location of where this tool is extracted to be:

on 32-bit system: “%CommonProgramFiles%Veritas SharedWxRTPrivatesPrivate_Number

on 64-bit system: “%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%Veritas SharedWxRTPrivatesPrivate_Number

Now let’s see how we can verify the installation of CP6 is successful

a)    VxHF.exe /list ———- To view the installed CP6 hotfixes on server.

Note: VxHF.exe is located at C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesVERITAS SharedWxRTPrivatesPrivate_Number


OR You can opt for following steps

a)   After installation  of CP6 browse the below mentioned any private numbers on command prompt and use the command “VxHF /list” to view the installed CP6 hotfixes
