Powershell – Get-ADGroup Groupname throw errors – unable to connect Sever

Today I got an issue in which unable fetch information when I run a powershell command as Get-ADGroup “GroupName”

Complete Error

PS C:> Get-ADGroup GroupName

Get-ADGroup : Unable to contact the server. This may be because this server does not exist, it is currently down, or

it does not have the Active Directory Web Services running.

At line:1 char:1

+ Get-ADGroup GroupName

+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

+ CategoryInfo          : ResourceUnavailable: (GroupName:ADGroup) [Get-ADGroup], ADServerDownExcept

+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : ActiveDirectoryServer:0,Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.Commands.GetADGroup

Its reported as this Powershell Command is running on Server A, but it’s not running on Server B.

I have done some checked like below

  • Both Servers newly built with same OS Image
  • Both Servers Running on Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Both Servers Joined to same Domain
  • Both Servers are in same OU
  • Both Servers has Active Directory Module listed (as its Windows 2012 Modules are Auto import)

So I am still looking for the solution as I have checked we are able to ping each servers and also able to ping the logon server from both Servers.

Still looking for the Solution – if anyone has something can share here ….
